Oh I see, bummer. Well I'm looking forward to next year. I may bring my new camper.

Definitely next year.

To quote the email that went out:

August 20-23, 2020 will be the dates for the 33nd annual Mid-Atlantic States Homebrewers' Campout (MASHOUT). It will be held at the same fantastic location as last year, just north of Cumberland, MD (approximately 2 hours from DC, Pittsburgh & Baltimore). Clear your calendar and make plans to attend the premier brewers' camping event of the year.

Keep a watch for updates closer to the event at:   https://campmashout.com

If you didn't make it in 2019, you missed what many long time attendees thought was one of the best ever MASHOUTs - thanks in part to the great location. The site has a large flat, tree lined camping area near a stream with accommodations for RVs and pull behind campers (no hookups). There are great amenities, including a covered pavilion for community events, a BBQ pit area, plenty of parking, and the ability to cool off in the adjacent stream. Many clubs set up their tents together to form a small communities for the 3 nights, but others preferred to camp out on their own. Homebrew clubs love to share beer & stories, so even if it was your first time you weren't a stranger for long.

In addition to a keg row of countless (!!) homebrew and commercial beers, this year will include events similar to last year:

  • Sour Hour - sharing of commercial and homebrewed sour beers
  • Firkin Friday - last year provided by B.C. Brewery
  • Food & Beer pairing - sampling of paired foods & beers, bring a pairing to participate
  • Potluck Supper - Saturday night shared campwide dinner
  • Friday night Band & dancing
  • Cornhole Tournament - compete for bragging rights
  • Musicians jamming at the campfire.

MASHOUT has always been and will continue as a non-profit event designed to gather area brewers and their supporters.

Registration fees are used specifically for expenses related to the event, all organizers are uncompensated volunteers.

See you August 20th- 23rd, 2020!

I sure hope so. As long as Roy is in and willing to drive with his camper.

Woot!

New location was great last year. Small creek right off of camping area was awesome.

I plan on pushing lowering the price if possible. Buck and Elena have really been on top of things (apart from communication).

Definitely post something if you hear. I must not be on the email loop anymore.

Will do. I hope it happens. I'm about to the point where I don't care if I get the god damned virus.

Unfortunately it's now been officially canceled:

With deepest regrets, we are announcing the cancelation of Mashout 2020.  Even though things are opening up, the virus is still out there and we do not feel it is in everyone's best interest to hold such an event.  We will look forward to having a spectacular Mashout 2021.  We miss our Mashout family and hope everyone is well.

I need to get back in the habit of visiting this place.
