Have you guys had this beer?  I know it's not anything too crazy but the couple of times I've drank it I rather enjoyed it.  It's basically a strong brown ale (7.2%).  Pretty balanced.  Not particularly hoppy.  A little bit of toffee/caramel, a little bit of roast.  Doesn't taste very high alcohol despite having a decent amount of alcohol in it.  Just an easy drinking beer that I'd guess almost anyone could enjoy.

I think it's contract brewed by otter creek which makes some decent beers.

I tried to find a clone but didn't turn up anything particularly promising.

I have not had that one but have you tried to e-mail the brewery and see if they will give you any info.

I have to get back to Vermont, I'm losing touch. It does appear that Otter Creek contact brews this, I thought the Shed did all of their own stuff but I know they were pretty small scale. Otter Creek website is down, I thought I remember Harpoon buying them out a few years ago. At that time I believe they would keep the Otter Creek brand going and do the small scale test batches for new Harpoon beers.

Time to get back up there and get caught up!

Harpoon bought Catamount.

VT is a beer mecca these days.

A moderate hop bitterness is derived from generous kettle additions of Mt. Hood and Northern Brewer hops

Well, there is a start

Some 2 row a touch or Munich and some C120 maybe?

I'll check that fest out. I like to head to Burlington early fall and I get up there about every 2 years. It's nice to park the car and to be able to walk to all of the places right in town and get a good sample of many of the northern Vt beers.
