Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.’s Beer Camp Across America is a national craft beer celebration that spans the country this summer, and SN is inviting every craft brewery in America (you read that right…EVERY BREWERY, more than 2700 breweries) - to take part in this magnificent traveling beer festival. Billed as a celebration for the entire craft beer community, Beer Camp Across America is designed to bring together craft brewers and the beer fans who have contributed to the success of the craft beer movement. Moving its way from west to east, and enjoying plenty of stops in between, Beer Camp Across America starts and finishes at Sierra Nevada’s two breweries, with its seventh and final stop at Sierra Nevada’s Mills River Brewery, which will also serve as the Grand Opening celebration for the new state of the art brewery.
In conjunction with the festivals, Sierra Nevada has partnered with twelve exceptional craft breweries to create 12 different beers for a new summer variety mixed 12-pack, which will include 10 bottles and two cans. The Beer Camp Across America variety 12-packs will be available throughout the U.S. this summer, with the dozen brewing partners joining selective legs of the festival tour. For the grand finale celebration and Grand Opening in Mills River, Sierra Nevada will be offering very special beer brewed in conjunction with the Asheville Brewers Alliance, a Scotch Ale called Tater Ridge.
Tater Ridge was brewed by the craft beer super group made up of members of the Asheville Brewers Alliance. John Stuart of Green Man Brewery and Luke Dickinson of Wicked Weed Brewing led this collaboration recipe. Created as an homage to our area’s Scottish Highland history, Tater Ridge uses special floor-malted six-row barley from Asheville’s Riverbend Malt House, and has a smooth kick from added sweet potatoes, which also just happens to be our official state vegetable as well as a tasty staple of tables throughout the Tarheel State.
