Posted ImageAnyone in the Chicago area knows that it was an awesome summer day yesterday. We hung out in the backyard, fired up the grill for ribs and I was drinking a nice gold lager that I made with Tettnanger & Hallertau Mittelfruh hops and 2124 Bohemian lager yeast. It was about 80°, sunny and beautiful. Cheers!

I consume every day to be honest, more on the weekends. I have lost 35lbs since Jan 1 2009. Consuming beer and losing weight is possible.

Ken you should start a blog where you post pictures of you holding up a beer in different places....like that traveling gnome one...

Hey Chad... can you do me a solid and head down to Busch stadium and put a hex/whammy/spell/curse kind-of-thing on the Cardinals? I would be forever in your debt. :smilielol:

Great looking beer Ken. Looks like a fine day up there in the Midwest. It was nice down here in SE as well. Always a great time for a fabulous pint of homebrew. I went to a cookout last night and they had a fine selection of commericals as well. Anchor, Dogfish. But yes its not Monday and the workweek is here at least monday is over. Ok time for the first pint of the day. Have a great week everyone!!

The Billy Goat and Steve Bartman continue to torment the North Siders! The only time I EVER feel bad for the Cub fans is when they show those sweet little old ladies in the stands at Wrigley Field crying after the Cubs let another playoff run slip away. Meanwhile about 350 miles to the South, we're looking at another long run deep in October. And with the help of the Boston Red Sox, we've been able to solidify our infield (Lugo) and starting rotation (Smoltz)! Thank you Sawx fans!Kenneth...come on down for a Cards/Cubs series sometime and I'll buy you all the Schalfly (www.schalfly.com) you can drink to make up for your frustrations through the years!

I'm a Brew Crew fan! Frankly, I thought the NL Central would be a lot tighter this late in the season...Keep taunting those Cubbies fans! Got a kick out of your post.

I may have to take you up on that. It seems that many years around this time, the Bears have to step in and distract Cubs fans. I will raise a glass to the fact that the Cubs have won the last 2 NL-Central divisions, but they seem to have lost their mojo completely. On Aug. 6th, they were in 1st place... WTF!?

Ken, that picture would make a nice picture on the wall to offer inspiration and hope through the winter months. That lager says summer bliss to me.
