Grains:7lbs 2-row6lbs Munich1lbs Crystal 65Lmash at 150FHops:1.5 oz Williamette FWH2.0 oz Magnum for 60 min2.0 oz Williamette for 5 min2.0 oz Cascade for 1 minYeast:Most of a 3.5L starter of 1056So I'm finally drinking this now and I have to say it's an excellent beer. I can't fault the grain bill at all. The hops could definitely be tweaked to individual tastes but I'm happy with what I did here. I'd def recommend keeping the IBUs up in the 90s though.I'd like to thank Zymot for recommending the full 2oz of magnum - definitely the right choice there. I'd also like to give a shout out to Denny for inspiring me to use a lot of Munich in an AIPA. This is probably one of my favorite beers to date.

Looks yummy. What was the OG/FG, or at least the batch size? 5 gal or more?

Looks nice I agree. I remember you asking and talking about the high Munich volume in this beer. How many IBU's did you come in at?

Glad you are happy with it. 2 oz of Magnum seems like alot, but it isn't. I used Santium (because I had them) in place of your Mt Hood. I suggest your next step up is go flavor additons in the 30-10 minute range and get plenty of hop flavor. Because you are not adding much in the IBU department, you can choose based on flavor profiles. My version of this IIPA endup pretty close. I went with Vienna and in a lower percentage. Plus I went with a good chunk of the previously mentioned flavor additions, in the JPA tradition. I bottled it last Sunday, I have 2-4 weeks before I really know exactly what I have, but the tastes I got during bottling tell me I am good to go. zymot

Use it up - I like it. I've always found it to be nice and earthy and floral but not too overpowering. Since they are an American version of fuggles it sort of makes this beer skew a little bit away from American and towards British which I think is nice.

I heard an old lecture by Vinnie Cilurzo on the Brewing Network where he makes the claim that Willamette makes Cascade hops really pop, it accentuates them. I think he said it was a 1 part Willamette and 2 part Cascade mixture.

Guess I should have slammed more cascade in there then - in hindsight I kind of wish I did actually.

More feed back - served this last night at a small gathering at my place. Suprisingly I feel like it's becoming MORE hoppy with time. I don't know why they are starting to stand out more but this beer is really starting to round into an even more excellent AIPA.
