Some guys in the club smoked some with Alder. Believe they went about an hour.Just pull a few kernels as you go to taste. Do you have any smoked malt to compare the level of smokiness to?

It depends on the process.Pick up the book Smoked Beers by Ray Daniels and Geoff Larson.
