take a journey with me.

a journey of deliciousness.

our journey begins one day after thanksgiving, when you have a lot of leftovers, and a lot of free time.

take the following items:

1 part leftover turkey

1 part leftover stuffing

1/2 part leftover cranberry sauce

mix these in a bowl gently.

scoop by the tablespoonful into WonTon skins.  fold over the corners and seal.

Deep Fry until golden brown and delicious.

serve hot, and dip in leftover gravy.

win.

note: you can make these and then freeze them prior to frying, then just add a couple minutes to your deep-fry time and a slightly lower temperature.  (325 vs 350?).   This is a traditional Christmas Day appetizer in my household.

Note: some have said the cranberry flavor is too powerful, if you find this to be true, use only 1/4 part cranberry sauce.  I usually just eyeball it and adjust the levels of ingredients to taste.

I used leftover Cranberry-Orange relish. It was all I could really taste.

Also, I don't think my wife filled the wontons quite enough. She probably put a tsp or so in there.

The cranberry should really be more of an accent.  I use mostly turkey and stuffing, then a smaller amount of cranberry.  Basically just use the same proportions as if you were making a Thanksgiving Leftovers Sandwich, but put it in a wonton.
