If my first NY Beer Bar review is for Gingerman, then the second needs to be for Blind Tiger. These are the two best beer bars in Manhattan. If you’re in midtown, hit Gingerman, if you’re downtown find Blind Tiger. Most locals will at least know where John’s Pizza is even if they don’t know Blind Tiger, and it’s right across the street. This is useful if you want to pregame it with some of the world’s best pizza. BT has decent food, but it always seems a bit pricey when I eat there. I’ll hit it up for lunch though, no doubt. Blind Tiger throws a brewery focused party at least once a month. So their taps get flooded with like 20-30 Bear Republic beers, or Stone Beers, or looks like Smuttynose is next week. They do this on Wednesday evening, but the beers last much longer than that one night so you can go in the next day or so to get a sampling of 15-20 beers from a brewery. They also sport forward seals, and have casks. This was shot the day after an Elysian event.

ever been to hop devil in the east village?, that placed has been historically plagued with shutdowns from selling to underage but i would put it right behind blind tiger. i had my first stone IPA at gingerman before it distributed commercially. It was a most glorious day.

East Village or West Village? BT is in the West Village on Bleeker near 7th. I think Hop Devil Grill is over near Thompkins Square Park, and I *might* have been there once or twice. I went to Loreley recently thinking that I hadn't been there before but as soon as I walked in I remember the place. If you mean the place I'm thinking of then they are across town from each other, but still walkable, like a 15-20 minute walk probably.ever been to hop devil in the east village?, that placed has been historically plagued with shutdowns from selling to underage but i would put it right behind blind tiger. i had my first stone IPA at gingerman before it distributed commercially.
