For Father's Day I bought myself, my daughter bought me a speidel fermenter.  :-)

Here are a few pictures to give you an idea of how they look.  I won't be putting anything into this until tonight or sunday.  I picked up the 30 liter size because I only brew 5 gallon batches.

This gives you an idea of the size dimensions.

Here is one of the handles.  This will be much easier to grip than a damp glass carboy!

These are all of the attachments.  The bottom spigot, a cap (if you don't want to use the spigot), the top lid (which is in two pieces), bung, and airlock.   I'm very impressed with construction of these items.  This piece of equipment should last forever.

That looks pretty cool.  I have never seen one of those.

Gotta say it was great today.  MUCH easier to carry than a carboy or regular plastic bucket.  I have to carry my fermenters downstairs for storage, I was able to bear-hug this without worry about it slipping or me spilling it.  VERY happy with the purchase so far.

I think my o ring is cracked.   Put a brew in the primary on Saturday and didn't notice any action on Sunday or Monday.  Took the top off and there was krausen, so it's fermenting...just no air lock bubbling.

That stinks, the thing isn't even a year old.    I still love it and will replace the o ring, just disappointed to replace part of it so soon.

I have a few batches in with mine and I love it. Easy to clean and carry and I can gravity feed to a keg skipping a siphon. The two draw backs are: 1. it retains some smell although it has no effect on future batches. 2. I cannot see the lava lamp like fermentation like I could with a glass carboy.
