You've never been there? They're the last stop for the "lake effect" snow blowing off of the great lakes. I must have gotten lucky every time, but it was reminiscent of Montana. Best Powder I've ever seen outside the Rockies. When they get it they get it. Gotta watch the weather fronts.Sweet. Come on up and Guest and I will buy you dinner at Victorias :cheers:Uh, powder?

First round is on me!Pro-tip: When outprocessing a NATO installation, be prepared for five times the dumbassery as a normal Army unit. "Sergeant The dis, we need your end of tour award." It's right there, after my outprocessing checklist, and before my evaluation. Just like it says on your checklist. "No, not yoru Army award, your NATO award." That's thje one behind the Army award. "This says Army." Right. That's my Army award, the one behind it is my NATO award. "I don't see it." It's the one that says NATO in 2 inch block letters at the top and is written in French as well as English. "Oh, this one?" *holds up NATO award* Yes, the one that says NATO. "But it's not signed. We can't take this." It's printed with the general's signature on it. There's 500 of us leaving this month, I don't think the two start has the time to sign each one by hand. "The reg says it has to be signed." No, the reg says it has to have a signature. And it does. Autopen FTW. "Well, if you're OK with it, I guess we are." Yeah, I'm cool, thanks. "Ok, now that your file is checked, go into that line for verification." *points to line 100 people long* Why can't you verify it? "NATO rules." OH COME THE #### ON. *wait in line for verification* *repeats process with NATO award* *almost chokes Spanish officer who gets pissy that we get a NATO award *and* a home-country award* "Ok, now go to that line to have your file signed off on." *points at line 100 people long* OMFG, we're in a combat zone and I have a repalcement to train. *sigh* Fine, whatever. *waits an hour* *repeats nonsense about NATO award* Seriously, haven't these people figured out that US troops gets two awards yet? We're not the first American NATO troops to leave. *gets to front of line* "Ok, now go to that first line for the verification signature." But I've been verified and signed off on. "Yes, but the signature needs to be verified." You monkeyfighters have been training at the DMV, haven't you?Sweet. Come on up and Guest and I will buy you dinner at Victorias

you never thought this would be how you would go. killed by bureaucracy.Pro-tip: When breaking in a new pair of boots, especially on a day where you will be carrying loads of baggage from your room to your new, transient billeting, have moleskin available.
