Started one after reading Guest's Falls Bounty thread. Finally found gallons of cider that were under $9.00 a gallon New Years Eve so went home and made it up. I wanted to make this 2 weeks ago, but $9.00 a gallon wasn't going to happen.Anyway alot of good ideas from many in that thread, thanks, I took what sounded good to me and made the following.Braindead's Falls Bounty4.75 gals Kauffman's Cider (Bird in Hand PA) :rolf:10lbs. Orange Blossom Honey13 ozs. Misson figs5 ozs. Calimyrna figs10 ozs. Sun-Maid Calif. Zante currants6 ozs. Sun-Maid Cape Cod Cranberries1lb. Sorguhm MolassesDV10 yeast, huge starter made, had lift off within 2 hour sof pitching the yeast @ 1:00 AM New Years DayI did a refactomer reading per Hightest's guidelines of filtering the must through a coffee filter then do a reading. Well I did that and got a reading of 30.2 Brix for an O.G. of 1.1302/ABV 19.3% :frank: Edit: I forgot to mention I put the figs with some cider in the Vita-Mix and whizzed it all up. Then did the currants and dried cranberries together, great idea there Guest. :notworthy:
