Santa brought me this with my stir plate. Started reading it and plan on taking mead making seriously in 2013.

There is no better book about mead. Nothing even close.

I made my first batch with very minimal research and winged it from asking questions here. Not that the answers I got didn't help but the batch was just so so. I know the book is a little old but will this give me the info to confidentally make a better batch. I thought I had read that newer ideas liked staggered nutrient additions aren't addressed in the book.

They aren't. Would be great to get a second addition out but as it is it's still by far the best book out on mead. Besides Ken may be a little busy between rehab (cardiac) and getting his meadery up and running.
