Generally a soak in hot PBW or oxyclean gets most of them off. Some are more stubborn than others. For those, erosion works just fine if you're patient enough.

Overnight in a cooler filled with hot oxiclean. The cooler holds the heat in, you can soak a bunch at once, the labels float away, and the glue dissolves. Rinse the next day.

I just sprinkled some oxiclean in the bucket I had the bottles soaking in and within 10 minutes the label were just sliding off and with some steal wool I got. all the glue off 50 bottles in less then 20 minutes. Put them all in the dishwasher and ran it with some PBW.Dan

I see you used steel wool. I was going to suggest that I used to soak the labels off in hot water ( I can see Oxyclean would be even better ) and then use a plastic pampered chef scraper to get any remaining label off. Then I would use brillo which seemed to get the glue to come right off.I fould Samual Adams had the best bottles and were the hardest to get the label/glue off.

Yeah, hot oxy normally works just fine and fast. That's the way I always do it. If that doesn't work I use a different brewers bottles.

The hot oxy worked like a charm. Even on the magic hat bottles. Without it I was scrubbing forever, with it, it just wiped right off.Dan

Duvel bottles are the best for label removal. I think they're glue is milk based, hot water is all it takes. They are real thick heavy glass that can take hi carbonation for some of my sparkling meads.
