Yes, it would be nice to get a shipping estimate, but I'm not going to complain.I've got an order coming today, placed on the 8th, $5.25 shipping. Pretty amazing.I'm not complaining much, but it would be nice if they could figure out a way to give you a shipping cost, or even a rough estimate when you place your order. I know they aren't going to gouge you and they charge actual shipping, but it would be nice to know when you are placing a big order.

This, plus I'm 35 minutes from a warehouse, so I can will call my whole order. Usually, I can get everything the same day I place my order. They have it picked and packed in about an hour. They have everything in the universe in their catalog and everything in their catalog is in stock. The prices are good, and they have no minimum order. The online catalog is very well done. The shipping is very reasonable. I used to get it next day, now it takes two days. <$6.00 - I cannot complain.I was a happy homebrewer the day I found McMaster.com. They are one of the best resources.zymot

You got that right, Grainger's e-catalog is nothing compared to McMaster. If you want to see a truly awful online catalog, check out Allied Electronics. The shipping for my order came out to $12.25. Not too bad, it was a pretty big box (40x12x12?). I had a 3' piece of aluminum tubing and 200' of PVC tubing in there.I think their online catalog is the best I have ever seen, it's so easy to find what you are looking for. Grainger's sucks. McMaster also has excellent customer service.

At some point it is easier and cheaper to pay for the gas in the UPS truck than the gas in your car. You can take a few hours to drive around to 3-4 stores to get what you want, or you can pay few bucks and get it shipped to you.zymotThe shipping for my order came out to $12.25. At this point, the time to drive around to multiple stores is worth more than the gas (and shipping). A few years ago that wasn't the case. Now, I'm happy to pay $10-$15 to get something delivered to my door.At some point it is easier and cheaper to pay for the gas in the UPS truck than the gas in your car.
