I haven't heard much about these, nor do I see them listed for sale on most of the homebrew sites. Only a few references on the blueboard from my search. Are you guys using these for anything special?I haven't seen any recipes that specifically request this variety, so i'm guessing they are more or less used as a substitute when you cannot locate something similar.

Santiam? good hop for Lagers,Alts, belgians, wheats, not to bad in a Pale ale either, used them a couple times, kinda like Mt Hood with a little more earthiness, and some floral aroma

Yes, santiAm. Sorry about the typo.I'm considering swapping the Mt. Hood with Santiam in Ken's Memory Lapse Pale Ale.

I like Santiam a lot. One of my favorite American noble derivatives. Has the spiciness of Tett with a little citrus. Very mild, mellow aroma. Great in lagers and Belgians (especially saison) and though I've never done it, it ought to be good in a less aggressive pale ale like MLPA.

Good info - I have a few oz I got from Indie Hop this fall and haven't figured outcwhat I should use them for yet - probably will do a simple pale since I need an easy summer drinker.
