The images need to be hosted on the internet already somewhere else. If you don't have your own website where the images are being held, you can sign up for a free account on one of the internet sites specializing in this service.

Examples include:

    [*] Photobucket - www.photobucket.com
    [*] Imageshack - www.imageshack.com
    [*] Webshots - www.webshots.com
    [/list]Once you have you image uploaded to a site you just need to know it's address. Like: https://i77.photobuc...0Table20011.jpg

    Then to embed it in a post you can type code yourself which is:
    [img]https://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j55/dizzzl/Kitchen20Table20011.jpg[/img]
    Those services usually have a nice UI that will allow you to copy this code directly from their website.

    Or you can click the button at the top of the post composition pane for a dialog to insert the image, the button looks like this Posted Image

    One posted your image will appear inline in your post like this:

    Posted Image

    And there you have it. Most of us know this already, but mods feel free to put this in the FAQ section for newcomers if you want.

How about youtube vids?

Youtube links look like this: You can either add it as a normal link by wrapping it in url tags: [ url="https://www.youtube....eLFEq58QU"]Link[/url ] (remove the spaces to get it to work right) Link Or embed it in the post by wrapping just the end of the link in youtube tags: [youtube ]MMeLFEq58QU[/youtube ] (again, remove the spaces)

An animated gif is just a gif so treat it the same way as any other image, i.e., [ img ] tag.

So for example,

[ img ]https://25.media.tum...mbo1_500.gif]][ /img ] {remove the spaces}

produces this:
