In an effort to improve the consistency of Moderation on this forum, we have decided to make use of the new warning point system provided in the software upgrade. The warning points have always been there, but until the upgrade none of you have been able to see your own points. The Mods used these points to try and determine what action should be taken for the infraction committed. This kinda sorta worked, but was imperfect due to the lack of consistency amongst the moderation staff."I fear change and do not like it," you say. "How does it work?"Well there really aren't any changes in the infractions. Everything is still based on the Code of Conduct. The biggest change is in the point system itself and how it is implemented. If you violate the CoC seriously enough where it merits a warning, you will be given an official warning from one of the Mods. Depending on what the infraction is, it will have a value of 1 or 2 points. The points are cumulative and once your reach a certain number, an action will automatically be implemented by the forum software. This could be a temporary suspension of your posting privileges for a short cool down period or an actual suspension.Warning points are NOT permanent. They will automatically expire 30 days from the time they are given. So you will not be on the crap list forever. Listed below are the reasons that will earn you a warning and the actions that will be taken by the software.WARNINGS
  • Abusive Behaviour or Personal Attacks - 2 Points
  • Discussing Illegal Activities - 1 Point
  • Drunken Posting Rampage (The Schwanz Rule) - 1 Point
  • Failure to label NSFW threads as NSFW - 1 Point
  • Intentionally posting in the wrong forum - 1 Point
  • Multiple Accounts - 1 Point
  • Not using spoilers for NSFW material in a SFW thread - 1 Point
  • Posting Nude or Pornographic Images or Video - 2 Points
  • Profanity in word titles including obfuscated curse words - 1 Point
  • Religious Bigotry or Racial Slurs - 2 Points
  • Signature Violation (Violates the Code of Conduct) - 1 Point
  • Spamming - 1 Point
  • Trolling - 1 Point
ACTIONS1 point -- Posting suspended for 1 hour (at Moderator's discretion)2 points -- Posting suspended for 2 hours (at Moderator's discretion)3 points -- 24 hours suspension4 points -- 48 hours suspension5 points -- 72 hours suspension6 or more points -- Your banhammer fate to be decided by ScottSSince you are able to see your own warning points total, you will be the master of your own destiny. If you are sitting at 2 points, hopefully you will modify the behavior that earned you those points and avoid getting a third which will result in suspension. It is our hope that this new system will be as fair and consistent as possible, but it may need tweaking after implementation. As with everything in life, nothing is 100% perfect or 100% fair. We reserve the right to go outside this point system for unforeseen circumstances to address egregious behavior. This is a amazing community with a wonderful group of people and we will constantly strive to keep it that way. Thank you all for your support and contributions to this forum.

When a Mod warns you, a PM will be sent to you and all of the Moderation staff detailing the nature of the offense and the points assigned. You can view your points on your profile under your avatar.

Short answer: I can't remember. I think it would be cool if you made so many drunk posts that "Drunken Rampage" flashed on the screen with the voice sounding from Unreal Tournament.

Only a person of your religious preference would ask such a question.

Please provide a little more in-depth definition of that.

It is okay to disagree with a religion and respectfully say as much. It is not okay to personally attack someone because of their religion.

lame. We are adults, you are the mods. If someone steps out of line, correct them. You really shouldn't need a warning system. If people don't like it, they can find another board to troll on.

How is striving for consistency across the board lame? This evens things out. If Mod A warns someone, then the rest of us immediately know about it. This wasn't always the case.

I applaud you for trying to make it better. I just think a couple warnings is more than enough for an adult forum. Just my 2cents.
