So I purchased a few pounds of hops. All in single pound bags from Hops Direct.I will need some of them to last a few months after having been opened.I do not own a vacuum sealer, but have a chest freezer for food storage.Am I alright just closing them up tight and tossing them in the freezer?(I double bag them.)

That's what I do. I do have a vacuum sealer though and I use it when possible.

I'd definitely look into getting a vacuum sealer. I used some hops over the weekend that I bought about a year ago and sealed in 1 oz. bags. They were still green and moist and fresh smelling.

I bought a couple of these from morebeer at .75 each.https://morebeer.com/search?search=COF606 Valved Hop Storage Bag (1/2 lb) COF606Store up to 1/2 pound of hops in this one-way valved foil bag! The valve allows air to be expelled by pressing down on the bag.Store your hops in the freezer to keep them fresh up to 3+ months.

I use/reuse mylar bags in which the hops are shipped for the most part, although I have bought some mylar "zip-lock" bags for some. Also use oxygen absorbing packets.Zip bags and packets available here: httpss://www.usaemergencysupply.com/emergency_supplies/oxygen_absorbers.htm

+1 on the vacuum sealer. Another approach is to flush the container with CO2 or nitrogen.

Yeah, inert gas or vacuum and as close to 0 Kelvin as you can get. I've used stuff way over a year old with success but it was vacuum packed and kept at 0df or lower.+1 on the vacuum sealer. Another approach is to flush the container with CO2 or nitrogen.
