In my melomels (and recently in my Strawberry Wit) I have used what is called Fruit syrup. The ingredients are simple and I will use the sour cherry syrup I get as an example.Ingredients:1.) Sour cherry juice2.) SugarThe taste and aroma of these are amazing even after ferment and I have been finding myself adding just a tad bit more before bottling with what I would consider great results. So far I have purchased/used the following:Sour CherryStrawberryBlackberryBlueberryFruits of the Forest (Blackberry, raspberry and chokeberry)Anyone use these before?I have found them in the ethnic food sections of local stores (most are from Poland or Slovenia) or from the Dutch shop online. Normal price in the stores is about $4/liter and I tested these and they are all right around 68Brix!Here are some of the ones available that I haven't tried. (These are just the Polish ones)Black CurrantChokeberryRaspberry & Wild Rose

I can't attest to the quality of these products, but my grandmother makes her booze with one of those bottles, 750ml of water, and 750ml of Spyrytus (polish everclear). That turns out pretty good. I have also fermented black currant juice and I must say it was pretty good, even for a newb. I would say just think about what you're making. The black currant and chokeberry will probably be pretty good, but I'm not too sure about the raspberry and wild rose. Honestly you're giving me the idea to make a melomel, it would be my first.Oh, and those syrups can be bought at many stores. Especially Polish delis. Every one I've ever been to has them, and more than what was listed too!

Around here everyone wants Blackberry or Peach. Blackberry is easy but a good Peach is a pain.
