I don't have any idea as to why you need the information (not having a fermentation chiller), but I would think it depends on how handy you are. In theory it's as easy as connecting an anolog timer in parallel with the fan (so that when the fan gets electricity so does the timer). But there may be practical challenges like finding an appropriate place to actually make the connection, the timer would need to be the same voltage and amperage rating of the fan (or have a load in circuit with it), and any deviation from the required input to the timer will most likely affect how accuratly it measures time. Hopefully there is a manufactured product out there that does this.Good luck!I don't have the attention span to sit there and see how long the fan is running at any given point in time.Is there any type of monitoring device that I can wire between the thermostat and the fan that will start timing when the fan is running and stop timing when the fan stops? That way, when I go to check it, I can just check the timer and see what the last count was. Ideally I'd like to log this in some fashion that will allow me to see the progression from when I add new ice to the time that I would need to change it.

Yeah, a wall clock. Start it at 12:00, whatever time it reads when you're done is how long the fan was on.I don't have the attention span to sit there and see how long the fan is running at any given point in time.Is there any type of monitoring device that I can wire between the thermostat and the fan that will start timing when the fan is running and stop timing when the fan stops? Pffft. yea you could do that if you wanted to do it easily, simply, and cheaply. ....way to come up the the elegantly simple solution.Yeah, a wall clock. Start it at 12:00, whatever time it reads when you're done is how long the fan was on.

Thanks. It certainly didn't come to me right away, but after thinking of a few wastefully complex and cost prohibitive options to do it, the easy method hit me, then I wondered how I didn't think of that right away.Pffft. yea you could do that if you wanted to do it easily, simply, and cheaply. ....way to come up the the elegantly simple solution.

But how will I know when it clicks on if I'm not there looking at the clock? At the very least I need some type of stop watch that I can use an electrical signal to turn on and off.Yeah, a wall clock. Start it at 12:00, whatever time it reads when you're done is how long the fan was on.

Why do you need to know when it clicks on?I'm not really following why you want to monitor the fan use, in any case. Why don't you just watch the temp? But how will I know when it clicks on if I'm not there looking at the clock? At the very least I need some type of stop watch that I can use an electrical signal to turn on and off.
