well my old stand by temp probe/timer crapped out on me last brew day while i was running two MLT's and keeping water going. meh made for an interesting day.went by grainger and picked up three of these for about $20 each (company discount - in the biz).Taylor 9940schematicit has all the pin outs for alarms, ect. so kewl. get some breadboard and start assembling. it's been a while since i put together circuitry but the transistor is an npn of the value listed, the resister is 100 ohms, and why would you put a resister bridge across the buzzer unless that's not a resister just disguised as one.the nice thing is for 20 bucks it comes with a 10' waterproof probe

That's very nice. I might have to pick one of those up.The digital thermometer I got from VWR doesn't have a waterproof probe. I clothespin it so it doesn't get dunked but, it has temp. alarm and countdown timer on it.I think I paid like 30.00 for it a few years back
