local liq has dopplerock & monster... if you are passing thru chicago, stop at a Binny's Beverage Depot (there are several in the metro area), one of the best stocked liq's in the midwest

Don't know about the beer, but when I was looking for a second Sanke for my brewing setup, I went by a local wine/beer store here in Raleigh to ask if they had any kegs they would sell/give away. Turns out they had one embossed with Great Lakes Brewing Co. Stamped "Made in Belgium". Someone had bought a keg and apparently returned this one, which the store couldn't return to any of their suppliers because they don't deal with Great Lakes. I bought it for $10. Maybe some Raleigh beer store carries Great Lakes? The beer that was left in the keg must have been Edmund Fitzgerald, because when I opened it up and drained it, it smelled like it had been at the bottom of the ocean for years. :rolf:

If you are going through Cleveland, why not stop in at their gift shop. They are always carrying fresh sixers and four packs. The best place I have found in the greater Cleveland area is called Red, Wine, and Brew in Chesterland, OH. Its a little ways east of downtown, but the best selection. They carry over 2000 different beers and 6000 wines, not to mention liquor and a pretty cool humidor. Check em out:8099 Mayfield RdChesterland, Ohio 44026(440) 729-7376ETA: I'm not local anymore, so I'm not positive that they have the exact beers you are looking for, but the staff is really knowledgeable. Give them a call to check.

Only Dortmunder I have ever had and really want to try and brew my own. I agree that is a great beer.

Great Lakes is an awesome brewery. Having been a former Cleveland native they got big and popular after I got out of college and headed south. When my wife's family still lived there we would go back once a year and I would always get some Great Lakes to bring on home. If you found any of their Christmas ale at this time of you then consider yourself as having won the lottery. I called my FIL back in early Dec last year and asked if for xmas he could bring me a sixer and he could not find any available. Either way I have not been back up to Cleveland in a long while and I am sure there are some good beer stores around there and you surely passed through already. Hope you found some though and enjoy!!Mike
