Ok everyone I have been asked by a female friend if I could suggest any reputable and enjoyable Beer of the Month clubs for her husband. Now I have never done much research in this and never been a member of one either. I know most of us brew most of the beer we drink mixed in with our favorite commercial brews time to time as well. So I ask can any of you suggest a good choice of these Beer of the Month clubs for me? I appreciate the feedback.Mike

Never signed up for one and all the ones I've looked into seemed ridiculously expensive, with the way beer prices have gone it's probably even more ridiculous. She's probably better off just going to a decent liquor store and buying a wacky 6-pack every month. Make her a list of good commercial brews and she can use that as her guide.

Well I fished around a bit on google and found two that I think might be acceptable. I passed that along to her so will have to see what she decides. I did find a place that you can order beer by the bottle and they were mostly from California. I thought the selection was good. Ballast Point, Firestone Walker, Green Flash. Hey they even have that Moose Drool as I remember a popular recipe passed around on here was for also. Enjoy, Check it out if you likeBeer Store

$21.95 per month doesn't seem too bad.

Just in the sense that it's cheaper than I've seen other BOTM clubs.

I was not pointing this one out really for the BOTM but more or less for the online bottle shop option. I think $2.59 for quality CA beer is worth it in all honesty. Especially to try some of the "respected west coast brewers"

I've rec'd the Beer of the Month as a gift a couple of times. Both times they came from Flying Noodle. I looked up the price each time and was shocked at what they charge ($31 per mo for a 12-pack). But it is was a gift (I would never have done this on my own), and my friends know I love trying different beers.I will say that I have received some pretty good beers that I normally would not find down here in Atlanta. This past month I tried beers from Kennebec River Brewery and loved them.

I was a satisfied member of this one for a couple of years:https://www.beermont...m/join-gift.htmIt's not terribly expensive if you stick with domestic microbrews. Also, they do let you choose how often they send you the beer, and for how long. You can quit at any time. I had them sending stuff every 2 months instead of monthly, so it was cheaper that way. They also have 4 different versions of the club. Domestic, International, both, and a new "Collector's" club which only sends you 2 big wine-sized bottles per month but it's like $32 which seems overpriced to me, even with the big bottles. But I was happy with the Domestic, I got to try a lot of stuff that's not available near here and I'd say about 75% of the selections were very good and worth tasting.

Hmm well maybe it was her that had asked me then too. LOL. I think that was one of the suggestions that I gave as well. I will be interested to hear what you think of what you get too. What timing thats for sure, they do say its a great father's day gift but I would expect that for someone who does not brew as well. Look forward to hearing about it too!!

Got my package from the BotMC yesterday. It contained 3 each of:Cisco Whale's Tail Pale AleCisco Sankaty Light LigerClipper City BaltoMärzHonClipper City Gold AleThe Whale's Tail is the only one I've had out of the 4, but it's been years since I've had it. So far I've just tried the Märzen, it was actually pretty good.
