Does anyone know what malts & hops they use in this beer? I had some last night and there is a distinct flavor, kind of sweet, that I really don't like, and that I would like to avoid in my home brews.Cheers,Rich

I couldn't find the grains in my searching, but they use Whitbread Goldings Hops, and use a hopback too.https://www.blackshe.../HolyGrail.aspxhttps://www.thenibbl...y-grail-ale.asp

The taste I get is the same as the from the Michelob Honey Wheat. Not really a caramel like flavor like that article describes, its different, and I can't stand it...Bready, or maybe grassy, thats the best way to describe it. Is that from the yeast or the malts?

Bready or grassy? Those are very different flavors to me, one would come from hops and one from grains. Could be honey malt in it, maybe...Edit: There was a commercial beer that once had a flavor I really didn't like, it was a type of hops I believe. I have never tasted it again. My suggestion is not to worry about it. If you don't taste it in your beers there is nothing to worry about. If you do get it that one time, then you'll know.

Sorry, I am a newb. I am terrible at describing tastes. I'll have to remember to smell the honey malt next time I am at the LHBS, maybe that will help confirm it.

So, what does José taste like? A taquito? If it is rough (bad) I always do a couple shots of Jose. Then all tastes good!
