I have noticed a flavor that I can best describe as "nutty" in several of my APAs and IPAs over the years. Looking back at the recipes they all used Belgian Caramel-Pils at around four to four and a half percent of the grist. Will that stuff add a "nutty" flavor?- Jim

When I taste 'nutty' I think Victory or chocolate (small amounts). Never had nutty flavor with Belgian CaraPils though

When I read "Nutty" I am never quite sure what people are talking about, but I don't have a better word for what I am tasting. I think of Victory or chocolate (small amounts) as "Bready" or "Toasty".This is more like Brazil nuts, or the fake Hazelnut stuff that metrosexuals put in their coffee. Somewhere between that and a slightly oxadized light caramel flavor.- Jim
