I'm in the process of upgrading my brewery to a RIMS system. I've acquired 2 of the 3 kegs that I'll be converting to keggles but am having trouble finding that last one. One I got from a neighbor who just never returned it after a party he had last year. The other one I got off of Craigslist. If you are using kegs as your vessels, how did you get yours?

prepare for a possible shit storm. :stabby: I really have no idea how to acquire them in a 100% non-gray area legal way. I can tell you this though - I'd never post about getting kegs that weren't returned b/c people get really bent out of shape.good luck!

I don't necessarily get bent out of shape, but I will point out that the kegs you have were stolen. Paying a deposit for a keg in no way covers the cost or transfers ownership to you. even a distributor can't legally sell you a keg. They are the property of the brewery that owns them. Keg theft is a major cause of the cost of beer rising. If you want to acquire a keg, either buy it directly from a brewery or from a place like Sabco (kegs.com).

There always seems to be some on craiglsit but the prices have been going up lately. Rarely do I see any under $50. Make sure any you buy are BMC. All others should be returned to the brewery, deposit or not.Strait up legal keggle brew pots can be bought directly from sabco. I wouldn't look for a keggle for your third vessel. I'd much rather have a 20 gallon pot than filling a cut keg practically to the rim.

A member of my brew club got one legally from a local micro. They had damaged it and were happy to sell it for a minimal cost to a homebrewer. Call your local micros and see if they have any they are willing to part with.
