Biggest mistake they did was ditch the corks and go to crowns.Corkers have a mystic about them. Like aging wine. It's in the Lips of Faith series.

From what I have heard they are planning to go back to C&C bottles. I sure hope so La Follie has not tasted the same since they started to put it in bombers.Biggest mistake they did was ditch the corks and go to crowns.Corkers have a mystic about them. Like aging wine.

I agree that it tastes different but I can't imagine that it has anything to do with the bottles. From what I have heard they are planning to go back to C&C bottles. I sure hope so La Folie has not tasted the same since they started to put it in bombers.

Maybe the cork tho. They do let in some o2 over time.I agree that it tastes different but I can't imagine that it has anything to do with the bottles.

I believe the 22oz bottles are pasteurized where the 750ml bottles were not so the bugs could still work in the bottle. So that is the big difference. I was at NB in 2009 and had some La Folie when we were in the barrel room and was awesome.I agree that it tastes different but I can't imagine that it has anything to do with the bottles.

Damn right he does. Back to La Terroir, cannot wait to give that beer a try.. Peter knows his sour beers so I have confidence that he'll get it worked out.

If they're done right, corks don't allow in any O2. I guess the fear is that if they dry out they could, hence the crown caps. I doubt anything good would come of allowing it to oxidize.I was actually thinking the o2 through the cork might actually help the beer.
I think that's Flying Dog.When is La Terrior going to be released?

Hmmm, Id think some o2 would help the bugs, maybe not.If they're done right, corks don't allow in any O2. I guess the fear is that if they dry out they could, hence the crown caps. I doubt anything good would come of allowing it to oxidize.
Ha, good catch. Btw, Dustin can pretty much run everything at Boulevard. That is one tour you need to make a road trip for. An amazing place.I think that's Flying Dog.

During fermentation sure. The pellicle will help protect the beer from oxidation. But after it's packaged, I'd think you'd want to prevent contact with oxygen in case there are not sufficient bugs to take up the O2 before oxidation can occur.Hmmm, Id think some o2 would help the bugs, maybe not.
That sounds like a great idea.Btw, Dustin can pretty much run everything at Boulevard. That is one tour you need to make a road trip for. An amazing place.
