I will be getting my chest freezer soon, itll fit 6 kegs. I made a so-so rootbeer once, and as of right now, I have exactly 6 cornies. I figured with as much pop as I drink I might as well keep that keg on tap dedicated to rootbeer and save myself some money. anybody have any really good rootbeer recipes?

any good rootbeer recipes, using the rootbeer extract?

well I have heard of people adding brown sugar and certain cups of different kinds of sugar. With the extract, I thought it was as simple as adding sugar, water and the extract. There's a great Ginger ale recipe in the recipe subforum.

I usually use brown sugar and or honey in place of white sugar in my root beer. I just use the generic homebrew shop birch root beer extract.

Enough McCormick's Root Beer extract to make five gallons, I think that's one bottle but I'd read first.4 cups white sugar3 teaspoons mexican vanilla extracthalf cup honeywater to top off to five gallon markThis is my standard recipe, works great for me. The mexican vanilla extract seems to have a spicier flavor than standard extracts here if you care for that like I do. Most extracts have a rounder, smoother flavor. The McCormick's Root Beer extract is available for cheap at Wal-Mart.
