So it has been several months since I bottle my RIS. It has been plenty warm enough, but they aren't carbonating at all. I was thinking about getting some dry yeast and putting in a couple of grains into each bottle and re-capping them.That should work right?Edit: I also thought about popping all the caps and just dumping all of them into a keg and force carbing it and call it a day. I really wanted these bottled though.

X2. I had a DIPA that also failed to carb. It was tedious but I popped each top, added a couple grains of US05 to each, resealed, and sure enough a couple weeks later they were carbed.

I am thinking that the high gravity and fermentation of your RIS may have killed off the yeast that you used for this beer. Do you have a beer gun or can do the cobra tap with a bottling wand shoved into the end? If you can go that route I say dump into a keg, force carb it, then counter fill back into your resanitized bottles, cap and enjoy. If u do that you will have uniform carbonation. There is nothing wrong with opening up the bottles and adding yeast. I never did it when i bottled and with a beer of such stature I would hate to run the risk of bottle bombs but thats just me.

For whatever reason (probably the high alcohol) my RIS always took a long time to carb. However, several months seems like a long time. I think you should try the dry yeast.BrewBasser
