That's good to hear. I always leave my beer in the primary for about 3 weeks (usually no secondary), so hopefully all the sulphur will dissipate. Also good to hear the fruity flavor isn't that strong, and the end result still can be described as "clean."Sulfur production is an issue, but clears out just fine. Just leave it on the yeast for a few days after fermentation is done to allow the yeast to clean up after themselves. It's a pretty clean yeast. Ferments quickly, drops like a rock. I have ALWAYS had issues using 001, so 051 was my go to yeast back in my White Labs days.

They are not the same. I've used both many times, and 1272 does not throw sulfur.I haven't used this yeast, but according to Mr. Malty, this is Wyeast 1272 American Ale II. I was considering making this my house yeast. It is awesome! It is fruitier than the normal 1056/WLP001. I have never had a sulfur issue with it either. If 1272 is the same thing as WLP 051, then I can't even say how great of a yeast it is!

only used 1450 once in denny's RIPA and it seems nice. I need to try it out in some other stuff...I like WLP051. I believe it is an Anchor yeast.I also like WY1450. Saved by Denny Conn. The old Brewtek CL-50.Both will be a little more malty with more mouth feel that WLP001 or WY1056.Nice yeast.

I thought I'd read that 1332 Northwest Ale was from Hale's??I think I've heard that this yeast is taken from Hale's Ales. I always thought about it in these terms: if 001/1056 is Cali then 1272 is East Coast pale ale yeast.
