my brother is requesting a beer for his wife, she said clone cherry wheat... i'm personally not a big fan having only had like 2 ever in my life (and like 5 yrs ago or more)... anybody got some direction for this one???iirc, this is a fairly light tasting beer, so I assume prolly about a 40-50% wheat bill, some 2row, maybe some 10-20L, a touch of maybe some victory or biscuit... some not so citrusy hops, like EKG's or soemthin?? add cherry puree in secondary or primary?? or should I just use an extract for the cherry flavor??does this sound right???

the grain bill sounds about right, but cherry wheat from SA taste like cough medicine so I guess you could go the extract route if you want that authentic taste.

fwiw - the SA site says tetnang hops, pale/wheat/munich malts, 13 plato, 5.4%abv, says cherries added in the mash and finishing? I assume by finishing they mean in secondary...

I had one of these on Friday night, my first ever...and it will be my last! SA Cherry Wheat is perhaps the worst beer that has ever been poured down my throat. Knowing what I know now, I would gladly drink Natty Light over this excuse for a beverage. It tasted like cherry cough medicine...Robatussin...awful.Hopefully your clone turns out better than the run thing!
