So what beer do you drink when you have a cold. Been sick for days and I think I've decided nothing too malty. Need that hop to get through the congestion.

If I am feeling that way I try and do one of two things:Don't drink at all or drink beers that I am ok missing the flavors of since to me having a cold tends to mean my ability to smell and taste are limited so its not as enjoyable. Now a hoppy beer that might work well too I could go for that. Nice idea!

I usually don't drink when I've got a cold. Because of my deviated septum, the symptoms are more pronounced and I'm on OTC drugs.

Haven't had more than a sniffle in the last couple of years, much less a cold. However,i would have a half glass of beer with dinner. It would prolly be an imperial stout.

I think there is a beer for any situation, even when you have a cold. In that case, something very alcoholic and warming does the trick. An imperial stout, a doppelbock, a barleywine...

When I have a cold, or am sick, beer usually tastes screwed up to me, so I don't drink it. I've been sick for the last three weeks (don't ask :)), I've had two beers in that time and regretted drinking both. They both tasted horrible to me.

I only drink whiskey or rum for a cold/flu. Beer doesn't do it for me then...

Same here. If I do have something, it is usually a medicinal whiskey or a spiked hot drink. Good hot chocolate with butterscotch schnapps is mighty fine, sick or not.

It's great, I've turned a lot of people, coworkers and such, onto it. Good stuff.

I still haven't enjoyed a beer in 3 weeks, but I did buy some beer yesterday in hopes that I will again be able to drink beer. Anyone had Victory's Festbier? I still haven't crack an octoberfest beer this year. Hopefully this one is good.
