CoronaI'm making some raspberry hard cider that I want to bottle in clear bottles. Is there a beer that is readily available in the midwest that comes in re-cappable clear bottles? Extra points if it's a decent beer!I know Guinness used to come in a clear bottle covered in plastic, but last time I looked they were now brown bottles covered in plastic.Jim

Oh, yeah! I think I used their bottles a few years back (I used to bottle 1 of each batch in a clear bottle.) Helps that it's pretty good beer... love their Oatmeal Stout!or samuel smith
Interesting! I'll have to try that! I just happen to have some wine acid blend handy. Do you know how strong he mixes it?If you are using the Corona bottles, you can get the paint off by soaking in wine acid blend. a bud of mine does this for his meads.
I'll try that. Thanks!Look for Gourmet Sodas at your grocery store.
Now that I think about it, there are a number of English import beers that come in clear bottles. Thanks for all the replies, everybody!Speckled Hen. Unfortunatly due to the fact that it does come in clear bottles, half the time it is skunked.

These bottles need a bench capper and not a wing capper. They have the same shape as the Stella Bottles and the "ridge" isn't low enough for a wing capper. Just a thought before you go out and buy a bunch.picapop!!!maybe that was just a canadian thing.... have you thought about clear fliptops? Just a thought.

Twisted Thistle IPAI noticed recently that belhaven started putting something in a clear bottle. My local bottle shop actually puts his own paper bag on the bottle with an explanation on a sticker for why he did it. Dude has love for his beer.

Can you confirm if his bottles require a bench capper? And if they do, do you have one? There was nothing more frustrating than inheriting 6 cases of used Stella bottles only to find out my wing capper would not work on them. Had to borrow a bench capper from a brewing buddy.I contacted the ebay seller who's selling 250 cases for $400 and he's offered to let me buy individual cases. Waiting on a quote.Jim
