Who put the clay in the conical!Man, and I thought 1028 was thick stuff. :covreyes:Blichmann 27 gal fermenator,25+ gal Australian Sparkling Ale.Racked off 24 1/2 gal then opened it up.The dump valve wouldn't.Dumped a gallon of wash water in the bottom, some came out then it plugged. Then I washed down the sides with 3 gal of water, most came out. When the water drained, what was left was literally chunks of yeast in the bottom.Sorry guys no pictures.

Which strain is WLP009? Is it English? A lot of these English strains do this (1968, 1028, 1099, 1098, etc.) and it's incredible. It looks like a giant pancake when you're done. Cheers!

Sorry guys no pictures.[/quote]What's the sense in having a 27 gallon conical if you don't constantly take pictures of it.

I'm thinking a 24/7, live streaming web cam would be appropriate.

Right. Then we can see the unbelievably bizarre Australian yeast in all its chunky glory. ;)

I've used this yeast and it's a good one. It does drop bright, but never noticed the huge blobs you're talking about. Sounds like the cottage cream look you get from 002.

1968 looks like ricotta...unless you dry hop into the fermenter, then it comes out of the bottom of the unitank like dry play-doh...seriously. Its so thick that it will coil up in the dump bucket in one continuous tube of yeasty hoppy goop.
