I like my brown ales a little drier but I think 153 would be nice as well. On the oats I don't exactly remember what I did. I believe it's in my notes. I think if I were to do it again I would toast the entire pound of oats instead of just 1/2.Zymo, This looks tasty and I have been looking for a fall/winter beer. I think I will get a batch of this going in the next few weeks but I may tweak the hops down a bit. If you were to do it again would you still mash at 151? I was thinking of trying 153 to get a little more body? On the oasts, how did you toast them? Temp and time.

Okay. I was thinking around 300 for maybe 20 mintues till they start to give off a nice aroma.I like my brown ales a little drier but I think 153 would be nice as well.
