Irritating brewing session just finished. I started drinking slowly about half way through. I was brewing the Berlinner and drinking the crappy dunkelweissen. I thought I'd finished the cooling with my recirc IM when I realized I'd had the kettle valve closed the whole 45 minutes.. So I opened the valve and watched the temp rise a few degrees. After about ten minutes I noticed I hadn't turned the chill water back on after opening the valve. Everything turned out fine in the end, but I wasted about 30 minutes of time and some indeterminate amount of chill water.Oh well, off to clean up.

I can understand the frustration you had. I forgot today but when I was trying to chill my wort the connections between the hose and chiller popped off. I forgot to get hose clamps from the last time I brewed so that drove me nuts. Don't blame it on the beer though, its just one of those things. Good Luck wrapping up the rest of your brew session!!

I think the problem was that you waited too long to start drinking.

Sometimes I think I just need to have three (or more) hands to do what I want - turn the valve, lift the lid, hold the hydrometer jar, hold the tubing, etc.

I usually forget the irish moss every other time I brew, regardless of inebriation. :rolf:+1 on the boilovers while BUI.

BUI... Never done it. Almost all of my brew sessions are early Sunday AM. I usually need coffee while brewing. Sometimes I think it would be fun to do an afternoon brew session and have beer as the accompanying beverage, but then I think better of it. As it is I mess things up enough :rolf:

Yep. Learned my lesson as well.Just too many things going on too fast sometimes. My brewday is 7 hours. Sometimes 6.5I noticed after only a couple of brews I would not be at my full game. Now I have my first brew at flame out. By then its all good.C.B

Yea, and you've got several hours to think what you're going to have and work up a serious anticipation.
