OK, now that the semester is all over except for the crying about the grades part... it's time to brew! If anyone has any suggestions about my proposed recipe or can tell me what style this is, that would be most appreciated. Also for the oat malt part of the recipe I'm thinking of toasting it at 300 ˚F for 20 minutes. Also mash around 152 ˚F.

Thanks,
Jeff

23 - Specialty BeerSounds like a really nice easy drinking kinda brew. The toasted oats will smell awesome in the mash and should come through with such a simple grain bill.

This is best categorized as a Scottish take on an English Summer Ale. According to BJCP, English Summer Ale is a subset of the Blonde Ale category. With the toasted oats and hint of chocolate malt, this should be as elegant as a simple beer can get. Very nice recipe!

No way. 1 lb of oats will not cause a stuck sparge.
