Planning for 13 gallon post boil volume, I added a gallon over my usual due to expected hop absorption....and I think it's called a KiloIPA.Holy cr@p. For 10 gallons? What do you call an "Imperial IPA" in metric?

It's the last 0.15 oz. that make it worth brewing.Just weighed out the hops for my Pliny clone. 1,195 grams of lupulinity. :blush:P.S. That's 42.15 ounces for you metric-phobes.

I'm limited by system size. I pushed it as far as I can go. I usually end up with extra in the fermenter even without the extra gallon. I'm not going to be too upset if I only end up with 9 gallons.A gallon might not be enough. I used about 2# a couple years ago, including dry hopping, for a Pliny clone. Mostly high alpha hops. I ended up short on volume even with a larger boil than usual. Well worth the effort though...

My last PTE clone was 2.5lbs for a 6 gallon batch. The keg was foaming green hop juice from my cramming dry hops in. Hop yumI'm limited by system size. I pushed it as far as I can go. you're using pellets right?I'd think you'l get at least 10, if it was whole cones not so goodI'm limited by system size. I pushed it as far as I can go. I usually end up with extra in the fermenter even without the extra gallon. I'm not going to be too upset if I only end up with 9 gallons.

I ended up with ~13g in the kettle (after fighting boilovers most of the brew) and 12g in the fermenter. I left a decent chunk of hops in the kettle and then I let things settle in the conical for about a half an hour and dumped about a gallon of hop sludge until it ran 'clear'. I think I got pretty much all the heavy stuff out of there and still ended up with 11+ gallons in the fermenter (which took off like a rocket).A gallon might not be enough.
