Today I tried Lemon Lime that is spiked to the Core. I am not sure why the can has to declare the spikedness of the drink. I am assuming that they wanted to make sure that we are not only thinking that the can is full of real lemon lime juice that we would like to enjoy in a refreshing manner on a summer afternoon. This would, of course, be a very poor judgment since the can is black and green and representative of diamond steel plate.Moving past the marketing of the can I read to see that there are lots of colors in my Core drink, but none are certified. Some are FD&C. The drink is 12.0% alc/vol., a nice kick to go with the nice colors. This can, however, was completed without viewing it directly in a clear glass cup. That may have to wait for a second can.I did enjoy this drink rather much. The alcohol was not offensive and was rather smooth. The lemon lime was not quite Sprite® soda pop caliber, but was tasty. I rarely eat lemons or limes, but this was pretty close to my rememberings of the appropriate flavors. Thus, while I am certain that I would never use this drink to flavor my citrus wild caught salmon, I would use some to spike salsa that will be consumed while drinking with friends. In conclusion, I think that I now have a second place drink to my Watermelon JOOSE® flavored malt beverage. While there is a definite lack of lightening (even though the can declares that it has ginseng, taurine, and guarana) it is mighty tasty, especially in these steamy days of summer.
