So according to you guys it is better to place the switch between the SSR and the element?

So according to you guys it is better to place the switch between the SSR and the element?

When I put mine together it was just a switch to shut the whole thing down. First connection after the GFCI. I consider it an emergency meltdown off/on. And it's nice sometimes at the beginning of the boil, although lately I've been useing fermcap in the boil............

That's what I did. This way no matter what the PID or SSR is doing, you can kill the power to the element.
