Better than Stacks? Pffft! Come on, bro. It might be decent, but not even close to being in the same league as stacks. :frank:

I paid $17 for a bottle of Surley's "Four". But that was a one time release.

Hell, I've spent more than $30 for a bottle. I wouldn't spend $17 on anything from Hoppin Frog though. Don't get me wrong, they make good stuff...just not beers that are worth the additional cash.

Hoppin' frog is good, I met who I think is the owner at the Dayton Alefest. Nice guy, good beer, but not for that price.

Our brew club pitched in and bought a couple of bottles of Tactical Nuclear Penguin. I want to say that was $60 a bomber.

I've had NP, definitely not worth the $$. Brewdog is all about glam/PR instead of making good beer, their new beer 'end of the history' (which also has a thread going - dead animals with bottles) is upwards of $500-700 a bottle (55%) and only 12 or so bottles were made. Our beer enthusiast group is doing a tasting this Sunday and I was in charge of buying/trading for the beer that we will taste...bill came to just over $320. And we're tasting 21 different beers. Shit adds up.

Man, I would think a beer at 55ABV would be way too strong..I mean Stacks is 12% and it has a bite...And 500-700$ per bottle..Whoa..It will be a while..:frank:

I don't know. I think most of their standard beers are good. I like Punk IPA.

Yep brewdog is good, but they have got caught up in the make it bigger movement. Punk is good, Basha(with Stone)was good, Juxtaposition(with Stone and CBC) was good, I've had an Impy stout by them on cask that was amazing. So they can brew, they have been getting a little ridiculous lately though. Make good beer that is still beer is what the goal should be.

Repeating theme: The cost of bombers has gone out of control. Breweries/distributors realized they can mark up beer in a 22 oz. bottle 2-3x more than 12oz. bottles and people would still buy it.
