I posted this on "the other board" also, but I was just wondering if anyone has the numbers on this yeast so that I can plug it into beersmith? Even just an approximation would be nice. Also, if you've used it before, what's the review like?

The numbers that I put in my spreadsheet for this strain are:Temps: 60-70*FAttenuation: 71-76%Got these from Austin Homebrew though the temps come right from the brewery. "Pacman is really great yeast; everything about it is good. Pacman attenuates well, is alcohol tolerant, and it produces beers with no diacetyl if the beer is well made. It's very flocculent, which makes it a great choice for bottle conditioning. I ferment almost all my beers at 60 F; once in a while for certain styles I'll ferment as high as 70 F, but never higher. Use lots of oxygen, and a high pitch rate. I never repitch past the 6th generation, and I always use Wyeast Yeast Nutrient."

I am familiar with the Pacman yeast and its use by Rogue but I am curious is this something new? Is Wyeast releasing this nationally soon or is this just through Austin Homebrew supply. Just wondering as I would love to get a hold of some and brew with it as well.

This is part of the reason I'm starting my own yeast bank. It was a VSS awhile back, then some Oregan HBS starting offering kits with Pacman in it I think. Now I see it on Austin along with a couple other VSS strains of old (so I picked them up too :D ). Not sure what the back story is, I'm just glad to have my hands on some.

I called Austin after I posted my question on here and he seemed to think that it was going to be a national release. I called my LHBS and was like well Wyeast never announces their releases but if they do put it out we will get some. I would love to get a pack no doubts or two.
