Missed Big Brew this year for the first time in 5-6 years. It was rainy and cold so I decided to skip it this year.

Do I see someone drinking something other than beer? How can that be? I didn't get a chance to participate this year but it looks like you guys had a good time. Hope the beers turn out great!!

Ha, I was thinking the same thing. I was going to ask if the guy drinking the red stuff was just a curious bystander.

The Lawrence Brewer's Guild hosted their 8th member's only, with close friends who want to learn how to brew, event out at a local lake with camping (with electricity and h20 hook-ups) for the weekend. We had just over 50 in attendance (un-substantiated weather predictions kept many away) lots of food and two bands. We set up 6 tap handles with plenty of cornys to keep the beer flowing. Only about 40 gallons of beer was brewed-- not near enough to compensate for all the beer consumed  One of these days I'll learn how to post a pic in the message...

We had a scheduling conflict so we will be celebrating a belated big brew day this Saturday. 4- brewers, 10- gallons each. Smoked pork, chicken wings along with other meats, snacks and of course....beer.I'll post pics after I regain conciousness on Sunday.

Posted ImageWe joined about a dozen other brewers at The Beer and Winemaker's Pantry in Pinellas Park FL. Above is our setup for the day. This is our first experience in remote and group brewing, so we dragged along all our gear... just in case.

6 people showed up but only 3 brewed. I was one who didn't brew due to work comitments. It had threatened to rain, so the brew was held inside the shed. We had good brew, steamed shrimp, moose chilihop dog bread, and corn bread.Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Imagehttps://s15.photobuc...sBigBrew014.jpghttps://s15.photobuc...sBigBrew018.jpg

Sorry, no pics (yet) but about 12 systems brewed from 8am to 7pm (I did a dubbel and Dort Ex) and knocked out 202 gallons, consuming roughly 51 g, for a net of 151 g. We had 15 g ea of the mild (on the engine) and the saison, plus 5 of a hefe, kinder koelsch, Irish stout, Am Pale and Bitter. Brats, burgurs, etc., noobs to seasoned brewers... just like a Big Brew ought to be. It was a proud day.
