Cheers!Early April was my 1 year. Before that I knew what I liked/didn't like in a beer, but had no idea what set them apart. Now that I'm about 35 batches in, brewing, ingredients, process, etc. is what keeps me up at night. You try falling asleep when all you can think about is formulating a porter recipe to beat the last one. :)

The homebrewing "circle of wisdom" has helped me many, many times over the past 10 years so if I am able to answer someone else's question, it only seems right to pay it back. Cheers 1-year olds. :)

You guys know a heck of a lot more about brewing than I did when I was only one year into it. I wish I would have had this board as resource back when I got started.

came out a little dark so maybe it's really more of a brown but when I pulled a hydro sample it was a distinct reddish quality with ruby highlights. This one is something like 23 SRM or so.... oh well I really just made this to see what I could do after a year of brewing on my own in a brew store to make a tasty recipe off the top of my head.4.5 lb Pale 2-Row2.2 lb Marris Otter1 lb Special B.5 lb Crystal 80L.5 lb Amber Malt1 lb Flaked Barley2 oz EKG 5%aa FWH1 oz Northern Brewer 7.8%aa FWH1 oz Cascade 7.9%aa FWH1 oz EKG @ 601 oz Northern Brewer @ 201 oz EKG @ 101 oz Cascade @ 52 oz EKG Dry HopNottingham Ale YeastIt smells great in the fermenter right now, my crush was shitty (the crusher at the LHBS was having troubles) and I ended with an OG of 1.050 so it's going to be a bit of a hop monster for the gravity but I am excited about it! It'll be beer, and I'll like it and that's what's important!
