I tried some of the brewer's best cherry in a glass of my nice wheat homebrew, ughh.Medicine taste came through bad. I wish i never would of bought this stuff now. I did have good luck once with the Canned cherries from Oregon,i drained the juice and then crushed the cherries over a screen and it tasted great.Next time for me, that is the way to go.Anyone need some medicine tasting cherry flavoring?

funny thing, I made a montmerncy cherry wine, and even 100% real cherries taste like cough syrup if you oversweeten (oops) it was only two bottles that I sweetened for a dessertish wine not the whole batch

Part of that, besides residual sweetness, is the 10-16% ABV.

yeh I know, my tastebuds were horked at the time when I was doing a little backsweetening before entering them in a contest, I didn't believe the cough syrup comment on my scoresheet, until I actually opened the second bottle

I've used several concentrates and they pretty much all tasted bad, except for the bottle I tried from Austin Homebrew; I still use their flavorings when I don't use real fruit. I've found 60% of the bottle in a Blonde or Cream Ale gives the flavor I'm looking for without any backside medicine flavors. You may want to give it a try. -K90Austin Homebrew Black Cherry Flavoring

You can also try the Oregon purees. They are really good and super easy to use.

Do concentrates taste like medicine or does medicine taste like the real thing? I say kudos to you, medicine flavor dudes.

Let's be clear, there is a big difference between concentrates and artificial flavoring. I wouldn't hesitate to use a concentrate sourced from real fruit, but I would NEVER use an artificial flavoring (been there, done that, the beer sucked).

Yeah, that orchard is where I buy raw cherries everytime I visit my grandparents and uncles. The cherry juice and concentrate are top shelf.

yeah - that looks really tasty. have you ever tried the concentrate diluted with water?

I've diluted the concentrate with club soda and ice for a tasty, refreshing beverage. Tasted like real, tart cherries.

what's the typical dilution rate? with 32oz going for $14 shipped I better get some serious juice out of that thing!
