I bought a cheap dual reg to keg with and I think I am regretting it.I just racked the cream ale into the keg and I'm trying to carbonate it.I want to just set it on ten and leave it. I have the adjustment screw all the way out and it keeps on going to 17psi. I relive the pressure and still it goes to 17. I dont know what else to do. Any suggestions?Cheers,Rich

This is friggin perplexing. I reread mtn's FAQ on kegging and change posts to the OUT post like he recommends and it works like a charm. This makes no sense. Why would the reg work one way and not the proper way?Anyway, its carbing and Im sweating like crazy from the garage.Cheers,Rich

I'm confused. You have the adjustment screw all the way out, or set to 10 PSI? Is it going right to 17 PSI or is it slowly climbing like there is a leak? Are you relieving the pressure in the keg or in the gas line? What does the pressure read when the disconnect is not connected to the keg?

Yeah, you need to release all pressure from the keg. Then dial down the reg and repressurize. Or the reg is screwed.

Its slowly climbing to 17 PSI. I know I followed those steps when I changed it over to the out side. I released all the pressure, set the line to 10 and then opened the valve. Worked just fine. I dunno if I did something wrong on the "in" side, or if I had a little leak, but its working now. I'm gonna leave it since MTN says that it pressurizes faster that way.Cheers,Rich
