I had a bottle and it was fantastic!I would brew it too if I could get a close recipe..Had a bottle of this beer last night, and it was incredible! Definitely a big beer, no doubt. Has anyone tried and/or succeeded in coming up with a reasonable facsimile of this beer? (Aside from adding Paraguay's best "Holy Tree" wood

Suggestions for good base beers that this wood could deliver in, these are all for my 13 gallon batches @80% eff. I think maybe a combination of these would be reeeeaaally good, a place to start brainstorming a possible Imperial wood aged brown. Old Ale: 32 # TF Pearl marris Otter .5 # spec B .5 # aromatic 1 # c-80 .3 # black patent 1 # treacle 3# corn sugar bitter to 60 Ibus w/ magnum @60 Ekg @45, US-04 or WLP005 Imperial Brown: 25 # pils 1.5 # amber 1.5 # c-60 1 # coffee malt .3 # roasted barley 2 # flaked maize 1 # brown sugar same bitter w/ magnum and EKG to 60-65 iBUs, US-04, WLP004 or 005 RIS: 25 # TF Marris otter 2 # pale choc 2 # wheat 2 # roasted barley 1 # caramunich 1 # spec B 1# c-75 1 # aromatic same level of bittering w/ magnum and EKG, US-04 or WLP001 or 005 I have made the latter 2 many times, but the DFH seems to be a a combination of all 3 of these recipes, kind of like an old ale crossed a RIS and landed somewhere in the impy brown. Suggestions on a grain bill combo? Now all we need is a base grain bill
Anyone got any ideas? Cheers, LD
