Forgot to take a gravity reading of my beer last night. Well, guess I just don't get to know the alcohol content of the finished beer or the efficiency. Oh well. Also, I found out the limit of my burner. I've done 10 gallon, 60 minute boils several times and never had a problem. This beer was an 11 gallon 90 minute boil. I had that thing on the burner FOREVER and really never got the rolling boil that I was used to. It was more of a simmer. I don't think I'm gonna go over an initial water amount of 11.5 gallons because 13.25 gallons was too much for it.

I took a gravity reading from my first beer I made as an extract. The rest of my extract brews, I never took another reading. They turned out fine. I hit my volume consistently so I wasn't too worried when the recipe were so similar. Now that I am doing AG, I have been taking readings every time, especially since I haven't hit my volumes yet.Cheers,Rich

Same for me. This was my second all grain, so I was curious about my efficiency. Too late now though.I took a gravity reading from my first beer I made as an extract. The rest of my extract brews, I never took another reading. They turned out fine. I hit my volume consistently so I wasn't too worried when the recipe were so similar. Now that I am doing AG, I have been taking readings every time, especially since I haven't hit my volumes yet.Cheers,Rich
