I figured I'd take the risk and ship them now. If they fail, they fail, but if not I'll have an early start. I'll plant them in pots to get them started. I have two Cascades coming.Beer Garden 2.0 :P

Good luck with the hops! My growing season is already well underway. I have some 2nd Year Cascade that are already knee high. My Mt. Hood is just crazy. It's in its 3rd year and the bines are about 1/4" thick and a nice deep green... oh, and it's spreading like crazy too. I'm getting some shoots growing up to 2 feet away from the initial plant.Oh yeah... and welcome to the board!

My centennials are already about 9" tall. No sign of the Chinooks, and I think the Sterlings may be belly up...oh well.

Then I need to tell my dad (in Spokane) to get out in the garden to check on his 2nd year rhizomes... I had some shipped to him, but I can't say he's been out in the garden to look.

Thanks for the welcome. I used to post here and there on the old board, but took some time off because of a divorce. I'm just now getting back.

If they die I have about 6 plants going and could send you a cutting, but I doubt you'll have any problem.

My second year hops are all starting to pop out of the ground. Nugget, Willamette and Cascade. Hopefully I can get more than an ounce like I had last year.

If anyone wants some free Chinook sprouts let me know. Local pickup and beer samples or I could ship at cost.

All my hops are in their second year. I have only two varieties, cascade (15) and centennial (9). All of them have at least broken ground, with some reaching around 8 inches as of yesterday. I have already strung up my trellis, and as the bines reach closer to the twine, I will begin wrapping them. I expect this to happen within a week for some of the bines, and within 2-3 weeks for the rest. I am definitely looking forward to the harvest this year.
