My wife is going to take a road trip to Virginia here in about a week. She's going to wind up in central Virginia from Omaha, Nebraska, so she'll be able to pick up stuff along the way too. I'm looking at my desired beer list for places she can find them, but what other beers that I may not know of should I have her look for? Remember, anywhere between Omaha and Virginia.

If Dogfish Head beers are hard to find out there, they should be found here in VA. I say "should" b/c I know Central VA can get redneckish at times. St. George and Legend beers are also brewed here in VA, so def look into that.

I had never had one before when I went out to Virginia a few months ago...but I really enjoyed Yuengling, it's a staple on the east coast but I had never had it growing up in Chicago and now living out here...

:smilielol: :I've heard good things about yeungling. If you can get a bottle or two of that I'd say dooo it.

Yuengling is a decent BMC substitute. Its the local brew that most people go to around here. In fact, if you go into any bar around here and just order a "Lager" you get a Yuengling. Its not bad at all, but its also not all that interesting. I drink it when no craft brews are available.

I really like Yuenglings Porter, Lager is okay, Black and Tan is pretty good.

Blue Mountain Brewery is in Afton, VA just south of Charlottesville (north of Lynchburg). I love their Full Nelson IPA.https://www.bluemountainbrewery.com

I would say that while Yuengling is from PA it is popular on the east coast, have it here in NC too. Its better than the BMC but I would not really search it out, I doubt you would drink and say damn thats good. It is a nice beer but not one I would get on a trip. If I can think of some good suggestions I will post back as well.

If she's going to be in Charlottesville, just have her stop by the Wine Warehouse and buy one of everything. A 2nd mortgage might be a good idea, too.

Thanks for the tips guys. Keep them coming. I know it's a California brewery, but does anyone in Virginia sell beer from The Bruery?
